Spacious and Functional
This "Texas Sized" kitchen is big enough to support large dinner parties, yet spacious and functional for every day! The floor plan of this kitchen was designed to meet the client's desire for a spacious, unrestricted kitchen with a clear view of the back yard. At the center of this kitchen is a 10 foot multi-angled work island - perfect for food preparation, buffet-style entertaining, or a place to congregate near the cook!

| The large work island is the centerpiece of this kitchen and provides ample counter space. The solid Corian top contains a double sink in the center, giving ample space on both sides for food preparation, eating, and cleanup. | The extra-deep refrigerator in this kitchen is "hidden" by beautiful oak panels on the side. The dishwasher and recycling center are built into the island, which also includes electrical service on both sides. |

| These base and wall cabinets
are actually 6 inches deeper than normal cabinets. The base cabinets are 30
inches deep (instead of the normal 24) to help hide the refrigerator and
to provide extra countertop work space. This also makes all of the drawers in the base cabinets extra deep! The wall cabinets are 18 and 15 inches deep (instead of the normal 12 inches) This gives extra depth in the wall cabinets for built in spice racks in the doors (see Cabinet Features). And the variation in the cabinet depth provides a sculptured look which breaks up the normal run of cabinets. |
The double oven is
flanked by a pantry cabinet with pull-out drawers. A drawer under the
double ovens is just perfect for all those "hard to hide" items!
The drawer bank functions as an organization center, complete with phone, lights, and stereo volume controls! A hidden organization center under the wall cabinet hides notes, messages, shopping lists, and pens. The drawers are plenty large to hold bills, papers, and phone books, yet neatly keep them out of sight! |
